Irish Beach is the very best way to experience the Mendicino coast. I've been enjoying this spot for nearly 30 years, and keep coming back.
The difficulty with cable TV was a challenge; and no internet connection was a minus.

Condition of property outside was showing some wear, but the inside was great! Never met the management company closed at check in/out. Has a garage, but locked from inside not able to use. Had deer every morning in back yard and the view was wonderful. Over all had a GREAT time and would come back.

Except for the ocean that no one is allowed to swim in, the rest of it all was great, especially the jacuuzi.

Loved our stay. Windows, windows, windows and the design give great views of the sunsets and coast! The decorations are a little dated (90's) and the mismatched dishes/flatware don't match the feeling of luxury that the exclusive location seems to demand.
A lovely property -- very private, quiet. Nothin but the sounds of surf 24x7. beautiful views/sunsets. hot tub site perfect (non-intrusive to either of the 2 bedrooms). fairly well-equipped kitchen (no coffee bean grinder. weak on vino stemware). LR window seats wonderful. A perfect house for 2 couples. Note: no shower in MBR; no tub in guest BR -- no biggie. Rental agency staff is first rate. Mendo House is all about location! Recommended.
Great view from the hot tub. Private beach was nice. To improve our flashlight at the house. The internet was extremely slow. Nice to be able to put your car in the garage.

We have stayed at Mendo several times, though we have stayed at other houses much more. Mendo is always one of the nicest on the bluffs. We'll be back.

Just a couple suggestions...the kitchen needs a few additional cooking items like cookie sheets or baking pans. A couple extra towels, in particular beach towels for the hot tub would also be great. We figured that since a hot tub was there so would towels. Every was very doable so these are just additional suggestions. Great place!!
The Mendo House is perfect...except that in the room where the TV is, there is only one small loveseat. This house needs a sofa or a few arm chairs. Window seats are not necessarily comfortable for everyone...otherwise, this home is perfection!
The house also had a new t.v., stero, hot tub, internet service.....

The only thing we would improve on at the Mendo home, is to add more "comfortable" seating in the living room. There was only a loveseat (for 2). While it was my husband and two children it worked for us, but occasionally I travel with my girlfriends, while this home will sleeps 4, I would hesitate to bring 4 adults due to lack of seating. Otherwise view was great, home was beautiful and enjoyed our stay.
Sounds bad huh...well let me start off by saying that the staff at Irish Beach is very helpful to make sure your stay is fantastic, I was able to visit the property before I chose it...Wow! They also however, make sure you are protected. I am a Fireman as well as a member of the Air National Guard. My stay at Irish beach never was due to the fact I was called up to active duty and I am now serving in Afghanistan. My wedding and honeymoon were put on hold. If I didn't get the travel insurance they offered, well I would have been out a good chunk of change. I look forward to booking again when I return, the staff alone was a blessing. Other than the 1980's furniture, it was a lovely place to stay and the hottub was enjoyable overlooking the beach
I absolutely love this place. I can sit and look out the windows the entire time. Beautiful view, easy walk to the beach and all the amenities are great.
Kitchen lacking things like measuring spoons, the patio needs patio chairs, in the livingroom the only comfortable seating was the loveseat (house supports 4 people)
After our third stay at Mendo House, we can confidently say this is a spectacular destination. The home/view itself is phenomenal and the service from Irish Beach Rentals is impeccable. We plan to return as often as we can.

the location was fabulous, the house was lovely. stunning views, great house for cooking, lounging and soaking up the coast. easy to get to wineries and Mendocino. we had trouble with the hot tub on the day we arrived and called for help expecting someone to come the next day but a very pleasant person called back immediatley and came the same night - very impressive service!
This home was beautiful and ultimately relaxing. I left feeling peaceful and refreshed.
Our family has been vacationing at Mendo House for almost eight years now. It's location with a panoramic view of the Pacific along with it's wonderful cliffside hot tub make this the ideal romantic getaway or simply a family adventure. Our family enjoys the private beach and tidepools. Irish Beach is close enough to beautiful Mendocino Villaga and all the amenities offered in Fort Bragg. Our only regret is that pets are not allowed, which is sad news for our dog "Mendo".

We had a wonderful four days in this stunningly beautiful coastal area in October 2007. Mesmerizing views of the sea from every room and from the deck and hot tub. Perched on steep hill 150 ft above the beach. The roar of the waves lulled us to sleep every night. Enormous beautiful beach. Spent hours walking, taking pictures, reading. A nicely appointed very comfortable house in the best location. A most relaxing vacation in a very peaceful and quiet setting. A great place to recharge. We will go back.

We had the pleasure of renting the Mendo house for a week in August of 07. This home has had the best view yet of all the homes we have stayed in along the California coast. Very clean and all the amenities in the kitchen for the chef. The floor plan is open and flowing with a view in every room. The house has a step down family room of maybe five steps and one step that leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms. I give this information for those of you who travel with someone who is handicap. My guest could manage these but that was about her limit. She did not complain I believe the view and atmosphere off the Mendo lessened the pain. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you to the owners for sharing this bit of heaven on earth.;)
This was a beautiful house and great location. There were a couple of previous visitors that spoiled a bit of our pleasure with the house. A snake had apparently gotten up under the jacuzzi and shorted it out (killing himself in the process) so we had no jacuzzi for the duration. In addition, a skunk had gotten in some access near the garage and one of the bedrooms and really smelled that room up. The manager was able to give us access to jacuzzis at other houses for two of the nights and we plugged the access space with a towel which helped a bit on the smell. This was the first time we'd ever had anything like that happen and we've been coming to Irish Beach off and on for about 20 years now. We love the beach front houses in particular. Very relaxing. Irish Beach is a great get-away.
We enjoyed the open feeling of the house, the expansive window views. the Ocean View hot tub was a great way to end the day spent exploring or doing nothing. We would definitely stay again
The view was spectacular, especially sitting in the hot tub over-looking the ocean. At times, it was a little windy, but that's typical on the coast. All in all, we had a fantastic time and would recommend this place. We plan to come back again.
